Sol Kendamas was founded in 2014 by two brothers with a simple vision: grow the kendama community and foster meaningful relationships.
What started as a shared passion of kendama and business between college students over time became something much bigger. We believed kendama was more than a toy. It is a creative outlet, a challenge for self-improvement, and a powerful way to connect people from completely different backgrounds through a shared experience.
Sol entered kendama with a focus on originality. Our first release introduced all-natural kendamas available in multiple hardwood types including Beech, Cherry, Maple, and compressed Bamboo, offering players something unique at a time when options were limited. As the community grew, so did we. Listening closely to players, we expanded into painted models, beginner-friendly designs, collaborations with artists and brands, and professional kendamas developed alongside our pro team.
Since day one, community has remained at the center of everything we do. Sol Kendamas actively hosts and supports events around the world including Battle at the Border, Throwback Kendama Open, Sakura Classic Nashville, Race to Lace, and Battle at the Delta. We teach kendama at festivals and schools, organize local jams, collaborate across brands, and sponsor a global team of players dedicated to inspiring others both online and in person.
We believe in making kendama accessible to everyone while continuing to push creativity and progression forward. Our products range from entry-level kendamas designed to help new players learn quickly, to collaborative and professional models that support artists and players helping shape modern kendama culture.
At its core, Sol Kendamas exists to bring people together.
Have fun. Create. Share. Be kind. Inspire others.
As kendama continues to grow worldwide, our mission remains the same as it was in 2014: support the community, create opportunities for connection, and help kendama reach new generations of players.
